The spaced repetition app

Build permanent
memory pathways

Most of what you learn today is gone within a week. Spaced gives everything you want to keep a 6-stage review roadmap, and reminds you at the exact moment a memory starts to fade.

The problem

Your brain is built
to forget

In 1885, the psychologist Hermann Ebbinghaus measured how quickly he forgot what he had just learned. The result became known as the forgetting curve: memory drops steeply in the first hours and days, then levels off at a small fraction of what you started with.

He also found the fix. Each time you actively recall something just as it starts to fade, the curve gets flatter, and the next review can wait longer. This is the spacing effect, one of the most robust findings in memory research. Spaced turns it into a simple routine.

How it works

One topic. Six recalls. Forever.

No decks to manage and no daily queue of hundreds of cards. Just a clear roadmap for each thing you want to keep.

01

Log it

Add a topic with a title and rich notes, or pick a ready-made set from the catalog.

02

Get your roadmap

Spaced instantly schedules six reviews across the next 365 days at your preferred time.

03

Recall on cue

When a stage is due you get a reminder. Recall it, mark it reviewed, and watch your mastery grow.

“

I once knew the capital of every country in the world. A few months later I couldn't tell you the capital of Burkina Faso. That's when I stopped blaming my memory and started studying it.

Why Spaced exists

Built out of frustration

There were facts I wanted to carry for the rest of my life, and I kept losing them. Spaced started as a personal experiment to stop forgetting, and became the tool I wish I'd had at school.

Questions

What is spaced repetition?+

It's a learning technique where you review information at increasing intervals. Every time you successfully recall something just as you're about to forget it, the memory becomes more durable and the next review can wait longer. It's one of the most replicated findings in learning science.

Why 3, 7, 15, 30, 90 and 365 days?+

The gaps grow roughly in step with how memory strengthens after each successful recall. Early reviews come quickly, while the memory is fragile; later ones are far apart, once it's stable. Six reviews over a year is enough to move most facts into long-term memory, without the daily grind of a flashcard queue.

Is Spaced free?+

Yes. The Android app and the web app are free to use.

Does the web app sync with my Android app?+

Yes. Sign in with the same email or Google account and your roadmaps, reviews, categories and history are the same everywhere. Changes made offline sync once the device is back online.

Why can't I mark a review early?+

Because the timing is the method. Recalling something before it's due feels good but does much less for long-term retention. Spaced unlocks each stage on its exact due date.

How do web reminders work?+

Allow browser notifications and Spaced will alert you when a review becomes due, as long as spaced.page is open in a tab, even a background one. For reminders when your computer is off, use the Android app.
